A new adjustment has been made by Google to the video and photo content policy for listings on Google My Business.
From now on, all videos and photos are going to be reviewed before they are going to be published.
There will most likely be a new delay when you upload photos and videos showing on the profile of GMB, since there was never a mandatory review before.
Google did not clarify if the reviews of photos and videos would be done through a team of human reviews or if the content will pass through AI.
There will be a longer delay if it is a team of people reviewing each published content, but human reviews end up finding a lot of things that machines cannot.
It seems that the policy change only applies to content that is submitted by other users.
There is a help page that Google points to linked in the tweet above that specifically applies to the user-contributed content policy Maps.
This means that the business owner directly uploads is not going to be reviewed in this process before publishing.
That is the only change that has been made to the policies on user-generated content in GMB.
